These are a collection of archival images I have found in various American Archives (Library of Congress and Mississippi State Archives, will expand soon). I started this project as a way to make new photographs using archival images of Black life as compositional template. But some of these images are so amazing, I wanted to find a place to display them all together. This is a constantly changing, morphing project.
